Accordingly, the plug for such a pipe needs its own - exactly according to the external dimensions of the profile, taking into account both sides. What are the rectangular plugs

Rectangular plugs, like square ones, are distinguished by several parameters at the same time:
— Method of installation: internal (stopper) or external (cap, lid).
— Profile size: both sides — from 20×30 to 100×150 mm and more; the most popular are 20×40, 30×50, 40×60, 40×80, 60×80 mm.
— Base height: from 8 to 35 mm, depending on the model.
— Shape of the cap: flat, pyramidal, truncated pyramidal, spherical (lens).
— The surface of the cap: smooth or shagreen (rough, with texture).
— Color: most often black, gray and white.

Internal plugs (plugs) vs external (caps)

The internal plug-plug is inserted into the pipe opening and fixed with stiffeners. Its cap covers only the opening itself, so the stopper is inconspicuous and does not change the design lines - a good choice when a discreet look is important.

The outer plug-cap is put on the end of the pipe from above, completely covering the cut. It is taken if the edge of the pipe is not polished or has irregularities: the cap hides everything and immediately gives a finished look. But since the cap is completely visible, you should pay attention to the selection of color and shape.

The peculiarity of the selection of a plug for a rectangular pipe

A rectangular profile has two different sides (for example, 40×80 mm), and here two nuances appear that are not always obvious:

— The "square 40×40" stopper will not fit the "rectangular 40×80" — these are different positions. Both external dimensions must match.
— For an internal plug, the thickness of the pipe wall is additionally important. With the same external profile of 40x80 mm, a pipe with a wall of 1.5 mm and 3 mm will have a different internal mounting hole, so a different plug will be needed.

— Outer caps for running sizes 40×60, 40×80, 60×80 mm; black, the surface is smooth or shagreen.

A rectangular pipe is chosen where more rigidity or a long shape is required, therefore plugs for it are installed in the corresponding segments:
